“Having a faith in Jesus Christ allows you to have an inner peace, a peace that passes all understanding, as the Bible says,” Cousins said after the defeat. “Walking off the field at Notre Dame, I was very hurt and going through the ups and downs of being a college quarterback.
At the end of the day, though, I have an inner joy. Hopefully, guys will ask, “Where is his inner joy coming from?’ And I can say honestly and truthfully that it comes from the Lord and if I keep honoring Him and having a relationship with Him, He’s going to have my back.”
