Our July Pirates outing was a great success! We enjoyed a great night of baseball, fellowship, food and a word from Jim McDonald, the President of Meeting God in Missions (MGM). Jim brought a powerful challenge on the need to follow Christ and the catalyst for spiritual growth that short-term missions can provide. Brennan, Kim, Leo, Kevin and many others from our group have experienced these life-changing trips. Over 50 people gathered for a tailgate from 5:30pm to 6:45pm. Tunch closed our time with prayer just as the rain poured down! We had a twenty-minute hiatus in our cars but the rain stopped and we enjoyed a great game together. The Pirates won 2-1 in the 14th inning with a walk-off home run! Brennan and Taylor Robinson did a great job setting up the grill and cooking for the group. We had several people bring a dish to go with our burgers, dogs and Italian sausage! Plans are in the works for a group to go to the Dominican Republic January 16-23, 2010. Many inquired about the trip which will be sponsored by MGM at the outing and several young people expressed their enthusiasm to go. More details to come!
