2011 White Fields Men’s Retreat

It’s time to set your calendars for our 3rd Annual White Fields Men’s retreat: March 18-20 at the Jumonville Retreat Center outside of Uniontown.  Click here to make your reservations.

This year I am thrilled to announce that Mike Pierson (Providence Church) and Rick Wiater (Good Shepherd Church) will be joining us along with several of their men. To God be the glory for what he is doing in our partnerships with these great brothers! B.J. Weber, former NY Yankees chaplain, 9/1/1 chaplain, and leader of the NY Fellowship will be our retreat leader. His gift of storytelling, burden for men, personal vulnerability, and love of the gospel will make for a weekend of healing and challenge! We will kick off our weekend Friday night with a few football stories and laughs from the usual suspects! Our theme for the retreat is Living the Cross Centered Life.  The cross of Christ is the gateway to our life with God, the center-piece of the Christian gospel. It is the place where God’s love in Christ is most powerfully expressed and yet its depths are little known to us. Our great brother B.J. will be a faithful guide to lead us in this journey with 3 messages. He will also lead us up the hill to the great Jumonville cross on Saturday night by the light of blazing torches! We have a short book for you by that title as a gift for all retreat attendees that you will want to start on in preparation. We will present an interactive workshop on our battle with Lust & Anger addressing also what Luther called the twin towers of despair…shame and guilt. Along the way we will sprinkle in video clips and personal testimonies from men who have in their brokenness begun to see their identity rooted in the cross of Christ.

We have a powerful worship team that will lead us in our 4 sessions together made up from our regulars: Kim Costanza on the Saxophone, Ben Lind on the acoustic guitar, Matt Helbling, and some new talent from Providence and Good Shepherd!
