Total cost of the trip is $1,100 per person, which includes airfare, transportation in the Dominican, food and lodging at the MGM compound in Hato Mayor. We will need your down payment of $500 by November 1st. Make checks payable to Meeting God in Missions, with White Fields week noted in the memo section. Please mail to: White Fields Foundation, 8225 Peebles Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237. Print off a trip application form from the MGM website to mail along with your deposit check. If you do not have a current US passport, you need to start the application process immediately to ensure it’s timely completion. Vaccinations are not necessary for entering the country, but we recommend having Hepatitis B and a Tetanus booster (within the past 5 years).

If you have any questions regarding the trip, please write to rachel@whitefieldsfoundation.org.

White Fields recently took a group of men and their families to the Dominican Republic to work with the Meeting God in Missions ministry in Hato Mayor. We spent the week in several different villages, painting, doing VBS with the kids, handing out food and basic necessities, talking with the villagers and sharing the Gospel message with them. Below are several testimonies from some of the men that went on this trip:

“Before I left for the trip I prayed that the Lord would break the hearts of my children, but what really happened was the freedom that I truly experienced by experiencing the fullness of the Holy Spirit. The Lord worked deeply in my HEART and the HEART of my family. I am a changed follower of Christ, understanding that I am free through the adoption I have in Jesus Christ and realizing the freedom I have through the power of the Holy Spirit. The Lord used every aspect of this trip to minister to my heart and now I know that true surrender can only come when we are set free to experience the fullness of the Holy Spirit. We are changed people (my family and I) totally surrendering to his will and not our own. As it states in Philippians 1:6, “Be confident in this, that he who has begun a good work in you will carry it out unto completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” I would encourage all believers to join MGM on a short-term mission trip – it changed my life and I know it will change your life too!” –Jeff DeSantes

“I went down with my 15 year old son very open-minded. While there, through Kim and Leo’s teaching, I learned there are 3 kinds of people: Non-Believers; Believers; & Disciples. I realized that I am just a babe disciple & want to grow to be a mature disciple. An immediate action step I took was volunteering to lead a small group of high school boys beginning in September at North Way Christian Community in Wexford. Praise God!” -Jay Simon

“This was my third trip to the Dominican Republic with Meeting God in Missions. Each trip has been unique but the consistent thread has been the movement of the Holy Spirit in the group corporately and in my heart personally. In retrospect the trip creates a beautiful environment for the Holy Spirit to work. You leave the world almost completely behind and are united in purpose with other brothers and sisters in Christ. You share wonderful Bible teaching and worship and live “together and have everything in common” while you serve the poor. I have found this environment creates fertile soil that the Holy Spirit can till. This last trip not only impacted me powerfully, it also had a major impact on my wife and 13 year old son who went as well. In Christ we are his sons and daughters, whom he loves and he is well pleased in us.” –John Cullen

“This was my second trip to the DR and I had my grandson accompany me. When we returned, he wrote on his facebook page that the trip changed his life! I would certainly echo that thought for myself as well and would encourage anyone to consider making this trip a priority for future travels.” -Colvin McCrady

The next White Fields Mission Trip is scheduled for January 21-28. Stay tuned for more details.

Horton of HuffPost Religion. Taking teams of people down over the past 3 years with White Fields we are hearing similar feedback. The greatest change that is made on a short-term missions trip is not in what is accomplished for the poor but rather what God does in the teachable heart of the team members themselves. This requires some deep plowing by the Holy Spirit!

The results of Dr. Horton’s study on short-term missions positive affect on college-age students affirms our experience with student trips but also significant impact upon men from White Fields and family members of all ages. We have heard great feedback from Father-Son trips, Father-daughter, family trips, you name it! Three of the most observable results identified by those interviewed were a greater appreciation of other cultures, a personal recognition that materialism and greed must be changed in them, a greater thankfulness for what they have in family relationships and lifestyle, and for some a recognition that missions can be local not just global. It is in this last area that we have witnessed many of our men take on a regular involvement working with young men in the inner-city of Pittsburgh. In the Homewood community our men are actively building relationships through sports programs (baseball & basketball) and mentoring young men.

See Dr. Horton’s whole article on Short-Term Mission Trips by clicking here.

We will be staying at MGM’s mission center in Hato Mayor and from there reaching out to many villages through VBS, light construction projects, painting, evangelism, prayer walking, and sports. This trip is a great opportunity for our men to bring wives, sons, and daughters and share together the power of serving the Haitian children of the Sugar Cane villages. Dozens of our men have experienced this joy sharing a week with a family member and count it among their greatest family experiences! A number of college age young people will be joining us as well including Stefen and Sarah Wisniewski from Penn State.

The cost for the trip is $1,100 with a deposit of $500 due by April 22nd to insure flights. See www.meetinggodinmissions.com for more info. If you are interested in this trip email Kim at: kim@kimcostanza.com.

Our good friend Kim Costanza is releasing his new CD entitled “Draw Me Close”. Kim was blessed with a wonderful group of musicians to work with, including special guest “Handyman” Joe Negri from Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.

We hope that this CD will be a blessing to all who listen to it, but Kim’s goal with this CD goes a bit further than that. For the last four years, Kim has been working with the poor in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. He has been so drawn to this mission work, that he has decided that all of the proceeds from this CD will go to furthering mission work in the Dominican Republic and Haiti!

The CD will be released without a “label” (now known as an “indie” or independent release). In order for this kind of CD to be successful, the artist relies totally on the help of listeners who will use the internet and word of mouth to get the word out.

Please join us in this work! Here’s how you can help:

Buy a CD! – click here to listen to a sample and to purchase a copy.

Purchase 4 for Christmas gifts – CD’s will be ready for shipment on or about November 19. If you purchase 4, receive a 10% discount and free shipping.

Place a poster in your school or church – e-mail Kim and he’ll send you a promotional poster.

Pass this message along to friends and family.

Buy helping spread the message will be able to bless others:

Food will be distributed to hungry families.

Pastors will receive much-needed support.

Dominican and Haitian men who are called to the mission field will receive much-needed training.

Lastly, if you’ve never been on a short-term mission trip, we’d like to invite you on a trip to the Dominican Republic. We promise you a great adventure, a life-changing experience, and a blessing TO you and THROUGH you! Click here for more information.

The upcoming trips are set for Jan. 22-29 for the White Fields week and March 5-12 for the College trip. This will be an open forum to get all your questions answered and objections overcome! Jesus said, “The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” Come hear about a special place where God’s Spirit is being poured out!

The cost for the trip (all-inclusive air, lodging, food, transfers, etc…) is $995 per person.

Room is still available for our March 6-13 Spring Break trip. We will be flying out as a group from Pittsburgh to Punta Cana in the Dominican. Hato Mayor, the city where MGM’s mission center is located, is about a 2.5 hour bus ride from the airport.

Many came out in October at our Lasagna dinner in Oakland to hear Jim McDonald discuss our trip in detail. Several men and young people are now committed. MGM has become a partner organization with White Fields (Fundraiser with Joe Paterno reflects this partnership) and this trip presents a great opportunity for our men and their families. Many Americans over the past 15 years have experienced the powerful moving of God’s Spirit that comes as a result of missions’ involvement through MGM trips.
